The Genisys (Genie-System - imagination)
So it came to me, one day in the autumn of 1996 - Family Pairing Days (PDs). Simple. What we need was a Pairing Day each year for each pair in our family. Wendy and I have 2 daughters (4 of us in total). I needed 5 dates in a year. A date for Rowan and I, Rachel and I, Wendy and Rachel, Wendy and Rowan and, Rachel and Rowan. Wendy and I didn't need a Pairing Day because we already had our Wedding Day, which is also our Anniversary of First Meeting, Our Engagement - plenty of history and ceremony there.
Then came the simple maths on our birthdays to generate the dates for out Family Pairing Days. To my pleasure, when I introduced the idea to my parents (Pat & Malcolm) - they instantly wanted establish the Family Pairing Days for their family - that was: themselves, my brother Chris, and myself. Great!
So I did the sums, and produced the Family Pairing Day Lists for my family and my parents. And in 1997 we had our first Pairing Days. All through 1997 I mentioned the idea to many people - overall the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Also out of 1997 came the non-family Pairing Day - just for any two people who wanted to have a special day each year for an excuse to get together.
Pairing Days will help bind us all together - help us all to better understand each other... create all kinds of positive ripples
